want your hashbrowns to turn out more crispy? thaw them and dry them out as much as possible, like squeeze them out with cheesecloth. then preheat your pan and oil plop them down in a scoopful not the whole bag, and leave it be for a couple of minutes without moving until you start seeing the edges get golden. then flip and do the same for the other side. don't salt until the end, salt in the cooking process draws moisture out and will steam them just like crowding the pan will. gets them mushy

The Waffle House hash browns are dehydrated then rehydrated, so on the flat top the potatoes hold up with less mush factor, scatter well and “burn them”. The best ever!
