@chriswitdagems: Corporate America is cooked, and we need to have a serious conversation about recruiting, hiring practices, employee burnout, and work-life balance. Too many qualified job seekers feel overlooked because some recruiters and hiring teams focus heavily on job titles, ATS keywords, and rigid experience requirements instead of evaluating transferable skills, leadership experience, and actual job competencies. Meanwhile, many employees are dealing with long working hours, unrealistic productivity expectations, micromanagement, workplace stress, and burnout. What’s the point of earning a good salary if your job consumes so much of your time that you can’t enjoy your family, your health, or the life you’re working to afford? Companies need better recruiting strategies, stronger hiring manager involvement, realistic workloads, and leadership that understands the importance of employee retention and work-life balance. A company that can’t identify talent and can’t retain talent has a much bigger problem than its employees. Corporate America needs to rethink how it hires, manages, and develops people. #CorporateAmerica #JobMarket #Recruiting #RecruitmentProblems #HiringProcess

I just had a recruiter ask me for 10 years of IRS transcripts, and articles of organization for my business. I told her to please withdraw me. 😅

What is happening is a lot of applicants are smarter than the recruiters. Applicants know their worth and want what their skills deserve in return. Recruiters check boxes when they need to feed into the application process

Why ask a recruiter what a typical work week looks like? That's a question for the manager or co-worker of the position you are applying for. As to the question about why are you applying, you could have stated: Your recruiter actually contacted me through Linkedin. After the recruiter contacted me, I reviewed the position, and it does appear to be a great match for my background and experience, because of "x", "y", and "z". That's a question you should anticipate and come prepared to answer.

Yep, they asked me what my first 30, 60, 90 day plan would look like if I got the job. My “plan”, what’s your 30, 60, 90 day plan for me. Zero investment in the new employees. No training, just start producing

As a recruiter, I personally never ask candidates, “Why are you applying for this position?” because I already understand why most people are seeking employment or exploring new opportunities. Also, the reality is that recruiters can’t always provide a detailed breakdown of what a typical day looks like in every role. In many cases, we’re given a job description, expected to understand the qualifications, and tasked with identifying candidates who align with the hiring manager’s needs. We don’t always have firsthand insight into the day-to-day responsibilities, especially when we’re recruiting across multiple departments and positions.

I asked the same question to almost all of the interviews I've been on this year...nobody answered it...I'm not working right now because none of these companies can't hire competently...If you can't tell me the duties of the position, I can't tell you how my skills will work in the job

Hiring is a joke in this country. A resume can’t tell you who a person is.

Recruiters will never know a day to day of the role. That’s an interview question. Recruiters are glorified middle men basically lol. But recruiters shouldn’t be dry on a call, that just doesn’t make sense lol

The truth is the recruiter job does include knowing somewhat of what the day to day looks like. That’s a part of recruiting. They call the hiring, well good ones, call the hiring manager and ask these things. Since everyone is remote, the work ethic is so low.

They recruited me at Ulta beauty headquarters. I had no idea working on the mobile app and they just threw you into the job without training you of what’s going on get you up-to-date so you know exactly where you could fill your rolling. I was lost throughout the whole time.
