GST is the only fair tax, we should have GST as the only tax. Even if its 20 or 30%. keep 100% of our pay, and only pay GST, no capital gains, no tax on insurance, Between "government charges" and "taxes" we keep f**k all.

The trick is to not work for 3mths if you can afford too (live at mum dads) do cash work , my son did this and he got a massive tax return. However not everyone is in a position do this but I did prove this point to my son.
