I'm just waiting to see adoption numbers start soaring. A lot of us are stuck right now in the "I could never give a man a child" mentality but eventually some of us are going to move towards adopting kids with our friends, lesbian partners, or alone. And I do wonder what the narrative will be when we start having kids anyway, just without men involved.

I know that men get blamed for most of the reason woman don't want more babies but also the economy is making it basically impossible, we don't have family to help us (some grandparents have zero interest in helping to watch grandchildren, after school care does not exist once you are in elementary school, our jobs are designed to make it impossible also for us to stay home if kids are sick, health system is an actual joke, a lot of us are running around undiagnosed and unmedicated so we have our own mental health to worry about, do I need to keep going ...

It’s not a crisis about women’s choices. It’s because people who have access to healthcare and can’t afford kids don’t. So instead of fixing the “can’t afford part” if you remove the healthcare you get kids with no financial change to capitalism

i do jot understand why men (typically) want kids yet only want to do 20% of the parenting then have the audacity to question why their partners are fed up
