You could’ve stayed in Pacific Grove in a beautiful Victorian inn for almost half that price a night and just driven the 10 minutes to Carmel. TikTok has glamorized Carmel, which it can be for sure but you gotta shell out

As a local, if you want to be at a less crowded beach you should head farther north. That spot you guys went to was the main entrance to the beach but you can reach nearly every beach from there to slightly past Sand City (which honestly has the best views because you can go up top of a sand dune that has benches and it’s usually pretty empty

As a local, I would’ve advised staying in a hotel on the beach, like on Cannery Row then experienced Carmel with a short drive.
