@illeshamarie: 20 years ago, Alan Rickman challenged the censorship of Palestinian stories. The Harry Potter actor co-created and directed “My Name Is Rachel Corrie,” a play based on the diaries and emails of an American activist killed by Israel in Gaza in 2003. Did you know Alan Rickman fought to tell Rachel Corrie's story? What other celebrities were speaking up for Palestine long before 2023? #alanrickman #harrypotter #entertainmentnews #filmtok #theater

Alan Rickman got in contact with her parents and they gave him their blessing to create a one-woman play based on her emails [to them] and her journal. "I am Rachel Corrie" debuted in 2005 (?) at a film festival. (Edinburgh?) It got some traction and eventually in 2013/2015? it was translated into Hebrew and was viewed on stage in 'Israel', which was Alan Rickman's wish from the beginning. Now that there is far more support for Palestine, we should try to get the play revived. One of the directors after Rickman's passing is Ari Remez. He never got to work with Alan Rickman but having directed the play (in 'Israel'?) he must have the rights to stage it. Rachel's parents must have the rights and script as well. Sivan Kretchner, an actress who played Rachel, is the one who urged Ari to do the play. **Write to any famous person you can think of who might be able to make something happen.** Of course Zionists did what they could to get the play shut down by threatening the theaters where the play was put on.
