I am really glad there are people who can give her grace, because I can’t. And everyone deserves it in some capacity. However, I am real enough to know that certain things people do will NEVER get grace from me. Im just indifferent towards her, but them babies…I’ll never forget my childhood, and I ache for those kids, because I promise, they won’t either. It’s simply too late to change their memories. However, I truly am grateful you have this capacity for her!

unfortunately my grace does have limits, ive seen her say all kids have a little childhood trauma and her kids won't remember all of this and they in fact have.

I feel so hard for Ekane. Yes... she has made choices that might not have been so great. But I will always have grace for Black Women & Femmes. A lot of us are just lucky to not have our worst decisions and consequences be entertainment for the masses. I truly hope she and her babies come out healthy and whole on the other side of all this.💜💜💜

Whew! I watched Ekane when she first started on TikTok and followed along from a distance after Chris tracked her down and broke into her apartment. The thing that has always hit me hard is the shame that she carries and how that has been weaponized against her. Exactly what you said about systems syteming. When you haven't had people in your life who love unconditionally AND hold themselves and others accountable, accountability can be so scary. But it's truly the path to freedom. That's how you find your power again. I truly wish her the best. I can't unhear the time Chris was wailing on her saying no one would ever care about her bc of the things she's done in her life. And if hearing that one time has stuck with me so deeply I can only imagine what hearing that over and over again in high adrenaline situations does to a person. Getting through a lifetime of that kind of trauma is a grief process that leaves you forever changed. One thing about her is I can see how much she wants to be different. Anyone with empathy can see how bad she wants it she's just so lost in the depths of things. Not negating her mistakes at all, but I do believe attonement is possible. Hopefully she gets the resources and strength to become. Thank you for approaching this conversation with the grace so many people do not have the capacity to give. Erica if you see this know there are people who do believe in you. There's something in you that has survived this long for a reason.
