@mentallyfitkid: Your middle schooler can’t build on a foundation that isn’t solid. ❤️ And sometimes those missing skills go back YEARS. Of course, schools have a responsibility to support struggling students, including providing required services and accommodations for students with IEPs and 504 plans. But even with those supports in place, significant learning gaps can make grade-level work incredibly difficult. Here’s one way parents can help: Ask your child’s teacher: “What foundational skills should my child be practicing?” Then ask your kid to spend 10–15 minutes a few days a week working on those specific skills. Free resources like Khan Academy can help! This isn’t about blame. It’s about partnership. Because our kids deserve every opportunity to succeed. ❤️ #MiddleSchoolParents #MentallyFitKid #parentsoftiktok #LearningGaps #AcademicSuccess

Keep in touch with the teachers and be a team to help your child! Some years you may have to work harder at home. Teachers are always helpful in letting you know how you can help at home. We can’t blame it on anything. It is what it is, so take the bull by the horns!!

As a society don’t we feel that due to the pandemic every child suffered the consequences of academic gaps… so maybe we should adjust our sails ? I can’t believe what kids are expected to do now. So hard, they only get dragged i feel as the Years go on😭
