U need to preheat the pan

You need to season with atleast salt and pepper and garlic. And your pan is not hot enough, turn it to medium high heat and until the oil starts bubbling, do not put your steak in otherwise it won’t get a crust on it

Wait till the oil starts to smoke a bit then add ur steak so you get a good sear faster

Don’t use oil or butter at first, preheat the pan until you can flick water at it and the water rolls around like marbles, don’t cook jt long and cool for less time on the second side. It’ll give you the nice crust you want without making beef jerky
