add some jingle bells too them (be prepared to be completely overstimulated tho lol) and do some celebration jingle dances and it will absolutely be a core memory for the kiddos and worth the headache and overstimulation haha

I'm confused.. why practice? why hair ties? why not give them actual socks? why inject an unnecessary confusion? socks go on feet not hair ties go in hair. give them actual socks. want to make it fun? make them colorful socks and mix them up. make it a learning to match game at the same time or a silly mix and match.. but confusing what goes one place for what goes on another is confusing to this age. just give them socks you're making it confusing for them just for content. not to mention hair ties can be to tight for the size of an ankle

I work in a Montessori preschool and would love to try this. they struggle a lot with socks even if they can already put their shoes on easily. I think it's stretching the sock that confuses them, so this seems really helpful. I'll pass it along to the lead teachers 😁💕

So cute! My 2-year-old found my cache of Eras Tour bracelets and is constantly wearing them as anklets lol. Coincidentally, I noticed she’s gotten much better at putting her socks on lately. I bet this is why! Never connected the two 🥰

even if they must wear shoes, I'm sure if they're off for an activity (like doing foot prints) no one would be dinged even if state walked in. it's intentional teaching, not just letting them run around barefoot.

Some of these comments are weird. They are teaching motor skills. The same way teaching kids how to string beads can help them learn to button their own shirt or how to hold a pencil correctly. Socks can be intimidating for little hands. Why make learning frustrating when you can start small like this and make it fun? They are learning to manipulate their fingers to stretch the material over their foot and pull it up. They are also learning to watch what they are doing. I’m not an OT and even I can see they are learning fine and gross motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination.

My niece has no issue putting socks and shoes on BUT TELL ME WHY every single time without fail she puts them on the wrong feet and has no issue with how it feels
