This is a pre-election projection based on my assessment of the race and the overall political environment, not actual election results. My forecast shows Pillen ahead as he seeks reelection, but with less than 46% of the statewide vote in a four-candidate contest. Although Nebraska has historically leaned heavily Republican, the presence of additional candidates could make this gubernatorial election unusually competitive.
