Small round n’ spooky 🧷 :

I used to work on a stud farm for a while and we were up late supervising a foaling and a hippomane came out with baby, it was the first one I’d ever seen in person and maybe it was the sleep deprivation as I’d done 3 nights in a row of playing midwife but the intrusive thoughts took over and I threw it at my coworkers face and it slapped her straight in the forehead… I instantly felt terrible and started apologising profusely but she was about to pee with laughter because it made such a satisfying slap 😂😂 An old school horsewoman used to dehydrate and powder them and then put the powder into home made horse treats and gave it back to the mare, she swore by it and said it was a sure fire way to help avoid any issues breeding the mare back for the next season 😅 no idea if that’s true or just a superstition but she very rarely had broodmares struggle to get in foal so maybe she was onto something 😂
