@itjfof: DAY ONE REPORT: FREE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL SECTIONS IN KISSI TONGI CHIEFDOM TONGl TINGI SECTION 16TH OCTOBER 2026 THE PEOPLE ASKED, AND THE KAITONGI RULING HOUSE RESPONDED! The second edition of the FREE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL SECTIONS IN KISSI TONGI CHIEFDOM officially commenced on Friday, 16th October 2026, with Tongi Tingi Section serving as the first stop of this humanitarian health outreach. Under the leadership of Aminata Bio Fofanah Kaitongi and the Kaitongi Ruling House, the initiative seeks to bring essential medical services closer to our people, reduce the financial burden of healthcare on families, and ensure residents across the chiefdom receive the medical attention they need. Day One recorded encouraging results, with dozens of patients benefiting from surgical services, medicine distribution, pregnancy scanning and other medical support. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS ON DAY ONE 1. MORE THAN 50 SUCCESSFUL HERNIA SURGERIES One of the major achievements of the first day was the completion of more than 50 hernia surgeries. This represents significant relief for patients who have lived with hernia conditions and faced the financial challenges associated with treatment. For many families, the cost of surgery creates a serious barrier to accessing healthcare. By supporting free surgical services, this outreach seeks to ease the burden on patients and give eligible beneficiaries access to treatment under qualified medical supervision. We appreciate the dedication of the medical professionals whose expertise, commitment and service helped make this achievement possible. 2. FREE DISTRIBUTION OF DRUGS TO OVER 100 BENEFICIARIES Access to essential medicines remains a major challenge for many families, particularly those living in rural communities. During Day One, free medicines were distributed to over 100 people, with the number of beneficiaries estimated at between 100 and 200. The distribution helped residents access medicines for their health needs without facing the full cost of purchasing them. This service forms part of our commitment to ensuring that financial difficulties do not prevent people from seeking appropriate medical attention. 3. FREE PREGNANCY SCANNING FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS Pregnant women were also among the beneficiaries of the first day of the outreach. Free scanning services were provided to support pregnancy assessment and help healthcare professionals monitor the health of expectant mothers and their unborn babies. Maternal healthcare deserves serious attention in every community. By bringing scanning services closer to women in Tongi Tingi Section, the initiative seeks to reduce the challenges associated with travelling long distances and paying for essential examinations. 4. ACCESS TO ADDITIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES The first day also formed part of a wider effort to improve access to medical care through the provision of essential health services, professional medical assessments and support for residents who needed attention. The programme includes free blood pressure checks, X-ray services and other available medical assistance as part of the wider three-day outreach. These services are important because early medical assessment helps healthcare professionals identify health concerns and advise patients on appropriate treatment or further care. A DAY OF SERVICE, COMPASSION AND COMMUNITY IMPACT The commencement of the outreach in Tongi Tingi Section demonstrates the importance of responding to the healthcare needs of our people. The initiative was developed in response to the people’s request for another round of free medical services. The decision to return with a second edition reflects a commitment to listening to residents and supporting practical interventions in their communities. Our target is to reach 4,000 people across Kissi Tongi Chiefdom during the three-day programme, scheduled for 16th, 17th and 18th October 2026.
