my Great Pyrenees would get terrible hotspots too, theres a paste that works like magic, our vet said it was the most effective stuff she had seen when we brought her in!

brushed doesn't count as grooming, regular grooming every 6 weeks for this breed

chicken seems to be bad for all dogs. 3 of my 5 dogs get sick from it. yes that's a lot of dogs but when parents pass away. sometimes you get more than just an inheritance you get a couple very loving and loyal bada$$ fury siblings.

Yep. We've battled 2 nasty ones this year. Between the hot spots & seasonal ear infections we ended up putting him on Apoquel. It's working.

My aussie used to get hotspots a lot, I recommend the coat defense powder it keeps their skin nice & dry + really wards off the environment that breeds the hotspots. Plus the powder is easy to brush into the coat to get down to the skin!!

Get a really really strong chamomile tea and let it cool, put it in a spray bottle that has a mist setting.

My Luna got one on her head for the first time in May. The vet shaved half her head. She’s very allergic to anything with chicken but we found food that doesn’t have any chicken or chicken by product.

I’m amazed at how many animals are allergic to chicken 😳. I cleared my elderly dog’s constant itching and scooting by switching to poultry free food

Try some Pepcid tablets. They have a well documented anti histamine effect, people with MCAS use them. My dogs like them and it really helps the licking and itching
