All the owners had to do was to be honest and say: This item is not for sale. We didn’t think someone could afford the $15k price tag. And they could’ve added: We would love to reach out to the artist who made this and see if they could make one for you… bam! Everyone would’ve been happy.

for the right price almost any store will sell you the show room item but even if they cant they aren't rude to you, they let you know what your options are. they dont try and sell you a cheaper item cause they assume you cant afford thing you actually want. I think the thing that bugs me the most is the owner acting like theyer just some poor shop owners that are being bullied by a celebrity... they are multimillionaires themselves, the tickets to these magic shows are $200+. also the guy has a back round in p.r he knows what he's doing with this stuff.

He's a millionaire and I believe in NY State, if you have a Price tag it is for sale. Might be akin to ''Bate n Switch's law.The owners are pretentious millionaires and he wrote a nytimes best seller ( legitimately?).

Rule #1 of retail is DO NOT HAVE IT ON THE FLOOR IF IT ISNT FOR SALE. We couldn’t even listen to music in some of the stores I’ve worked in because we don’t sell the CD.

Tbh the bird might actually be mounted to the wall. It’s a very intricate, fragile piece that was hand crafted. But if it had a price tag that would mean that you could probably order one from the artist who made it. Idk why they’re not just explaining that
