How do we know what schools want more creative versus more direct. Like i think USC wants straight information less fluff but how do we know for every school?

Can I write my essay on how people mess up my name and in high school when I stopped being annoyed with it or atleast pretended to stop being annoyed I started to let other things slip too and it made me a people pleaser till I realised that I hated the way I was living.
