Skoda Citigo Brake and Suspension Repair. • In this video, we work on a Skoda Citigo that came in for technical inspection preparation, along with an additional customer complaint about steering wheel vibration during braking. • Initial inspection revealed several issues that required immediate attention. First, the rear bushings of the front control arms were damaged. This is a very common issue found on many Volkswagen Group vehicles that use a similar suspension design. • The complaint about steering wheel vibration during braking immediately suggested a problem with the front braking system. Further inspection confirmed that the front brake discs had excessive wear and deformation, causing vibration while braking. • In this video, we perform a complete front brake service. New brake discs are installed and I explain several important assembly details. On this vehicle, the inner and outer brake pads have different mounting designs, so it is essential to install each pad in its correct position. • Special attention is given to brake caliper servicing. I show which contact surfaces need cleaning, where lubrication is required, how to service the guide pins, and how everything should be assembled properly for correct brake operation. • We also replace the front control arms. In this case, installing complete new control arms was more cost-effective and faster than replacing the bushings separately, making it a better option for the customer. • After repairs like this, wheel alignment is absolutely necessary. However, before performing alignment, it is important to check whether the tie rod adjustment points can move freely. • In this case, the steering tie rods were seized and needed to be freed up first.
