I was hit by a car last night while crossing a pedestrian crosswalk with the right of way on my way to the West Side Highway running and walking path. A car making a left turn was traveling extremely fast and struck me very hard. After being hit, I struck my head extremely hard and sustained a severe head wound that required staples. Thankfully, the hospital evaluation found no evidence of bleeding in my brain or a serious brain injury, and I am now home resting. I have multiple physical injuries, significant full-body pain, and it is currently very painful to walk. I am also experiencing psychological trauma from the accident, particularly the memory of seeing the car turning toward me, its headlights, how fast it was approaching, realizing it wasn’t going to stop, and the moment of impact. The entire sequence keeps replaying in my head, and I am still trying to process how frightening the experience was. I am completely exhausted and will be taking it easy over the next few days. I also want to remind everyone who runs or walks along the West Side Highway to be extremely careful at pedestrian crossings, even when you have the right of way. I also want to thank everyone on TikTok for all of the kindness and support. The last 100 days have been absolutely wild, and I am so grateful for all of you. I have a lot of videos saved in my drafts that I really connected with and didn’t want to post all at once. I’ll still be sharing those periodically over the next few days, but I may be a little less active and slower to respond to comments while I recover. I’ll share more details about the accident in a follow-up video. ❤️
