@unlocking.the.myst: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Makes Her Broadway Debut Alongside Allison Janney And Ed Harris In Other Desert Cities Julia Louis-Dreyfus is making her Broadway debut, and PEOPLE has the first look. She stars in a revival of “Other Desert Cities” with Allison Janney, Ed Harris, Lily Rabe, and Joe Keery. It is also Keery’s Broadway debut. John Benjamin Hickey directs. Previews began Sept. 29. The show officially opens Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Hudson Theatre. It runs through Jan. 17, 2027. The play is set in Palm Springs, California, at Christmas 2004. It follows the wealthy Wyeth family. Their daughter returns home with a manuscript that threatens to expose a painful family tragedy. Louis-Dreyfus, 65, plays Polly, the sharp-tongued matriarch who wants the past kept buried. Harris, 75, plays her husband, Lyman, a former actor and U.S. ambassador. Rabe, 44, plays their daughter Brooke, a writer. Keery, 34, plays her brother, Trip. Janney, 66, plays Polly’s sister, Silda, who is staying with the family after a stint in rehab. This is the first Broadway revival of Jon Robin Baitz’s play. The original opened on Broadway in 2011, earned five Tony nominations, and was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
