@innerheart_counse: 📱 “They just want to know where I am.” “It's normal to share passwords when you're dating.” “They get upset if I don't answer right away.” These statements might sound like ordinary teenage relationship drama. But sometimes, they can signal a pattern of control. Digital dating abuse can include: 🚩 Demanding passwords. 🚩 Tracking someone's location without freely given consent. 🚩 Requiring immediate replies and punishing delays. 🚩 Threatening to share private images or messages. 🚩 Using fake accounts or repeated messages to monitor someone. 🚩 Making a partner feel guilty for spending time offline. Parents, ask your teens what respect and privacy look like in their relationships. Listen without immediately criticizing their partner or taking away their ability to talk to you. Teens, you can care about someone and still have privacy. ❤️ Trust isn't measured by how much access someone has to your phone. Let's teach our young people that digital boundaries are real boundaries. 📞 InnerHeart Counseling & Consulting can offer support: (956) 304-6460 🚨 If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call 911 Disclaimer: This post is for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
