*-Tenzin and Gyatso are named after the same real-world individual (Tenzin Gyatso, the current Dalai Lama). However, I am not aware of anything in canon that would support Monk Gyatso himself having Tenzin as a first name.

Tenzin is named for the real life Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. Gyatso was also named after him. But I don't think it's ever been confirmed that Gyatso is the character's last name.
