@gods.chosen111: To let go of the things I desire or confront the sins I have grown comfortable with. There are moments when I want God to bless me without changing me, to give me peace without correcting my ways, and to lead me forward without asking me to surrender what is pulling me away from Him. But I am learning that the Lord’s discipline is not something I should despise. He corrects me because He calls me to grow in righteousness and become more like Christ. Scripture says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you.” Hebrews 12:5. I must learn to receive God’s correction with a humble heart instead of becoming defensive when His Word exposes my weaknesses. If He reveals pride within me, I want to become humble. If He reveals sin, I want to repent. If He teaches me patience through hardship, I want to trust Him rather than become bitter. I do not want to remain the same person year after year while asking the Lord to transform my life. True growth requires me to listen, surrender, and allow His truth to shape my character. Even when correction is uncomfortable, I can be grateful that God has not left me to follow every desire of my own heart. Lord Jesus, teach me to delight in Your discipline and receive Your correction with humility. When Your Word reveals something wrong within me, help me repent instead of making excuses. Give me the wisdom to recognize where I need to change and the strength to walk away from the sins that separate me from You. Do not let pride prevent me from learning, or discouragement convince me that I cannot grow. Shape my heart, strengthen my faith, and teach me to love righteousness more than my own desires. I want to become more like You, even when the process is difficult, because my greatest desire is not simply to receive Your blessings, but to live in a way that honors You.
