That he loved her enough to give her any ending, even if it meant it wasn't with him. And that is actual, real love, in the sacrafice. That he would give her up, for her happiness. That he would chose to die, while she picked someone else, in the hopes she'd live with him and be happy and survive. It was from pure selflessness and love that he would give up everything for her. And even more important is she would do the same thing. That she had what she thought she'd wished for, *held it in her hands* and realized it was never what she wanted. That she stepped away from it, for Gambit, because she realized Magneto wouldn't have picked her if it came down to his beliefs. That he wouldn't sacrafice everything for her, and that he wouldn't love her when it mattered. And she made the choice to try and bring him back, even if it meant it was a world without her, because she couldn't bear the idea of him cutting his life short believing she had chosen someone else, that she'd ruined his chances at his life. And for Kurt to sacrafice himself, valuing himself so little but knowing Gambit couldnt live in a world without Rogue, and that he wanted his sister to have a chance at happiness. And people ignore it all, because they can't begin to fathom that kind of dedication.
