@jayaein_: pov: “stop staring at me,” you roll your eyes at heeseung. you’ve been feeling like you’re being watched, and every time you look up, it’s him. “i’m not staring at you. you’re doing it wrong,” he says, pointing at the project you’re working on. you look down at your laptop, then back at him. “doing what wrong?” “the layout. the title is supposed to be centered.” “it is centered.” “not properly.” you stare at him in disbelief. “do you want to do it yourself, then?” “gladly. at least we might finish before graduation.” you want to throw your notebook at him. unfortunately, you’re doing a group project, and your other groupmates are sitting right there, watching the two of you argue like it’s their afternoon entertainment. and the worst part? he’s actually good at this. he’s smart, annoyingly observant, and somehow manages to find mistakes in your work that nobody else notices. you ignore him. or at least, you try. the next few days are a nightmare. heeseung keeps correcting your slides, you keep pointing out his mistakes, and your groupmates have officially stopped trying to separate you. during one meeting, he leans over your laptop. “change that.” you immediately cover the trackpad with your hand. “don’t touch my laptop.” “i’m trying to help.” “then help from your side of the table.” he raises an eyebrow. “are you always this difficult?” “only when you’re around.” “must be exhausting being you.” “must be exhausting being so obsessed with me.” heeseung pauses. then he smirks. “you wish.” you turn back to your screen before he sees the way your face warms. you hate that smirk. you hate his stupid hair, his stupid voice, and the way he always looks far too pleased with himself whenever he gets a reaction out of you. most of all, you hate that sometimes, when he’s concentrating on his work, you catch yourself looking at him. which is exactly why you nearly throw your pen at him when you notice him looking back. “what now?” you snap. “nothing.” he returns to his laptop, smiling to himself. you decide that if you survive this project, you’ll never work with him again. finally, after days of arguing, editing, and surviving on convenience-store snacks, your group submits the project. your groupmates celebrate like they’ve just escaped prison. “never again,” you announce, packing your things. “agreed,” heeseung says beside you. you glare at him. “nobody asked you.” “i’m agreeing with you.” “don’t.” he laughs, and you walk away before you can say something you’ll regret. by the time you reach the campus entrance, it’s already late. you open your ride-hailing app, only to find that no cars are available. you try again. nothing. you consider calling someone, but most of your friends have already gone home. “having trouble?” you close your eyes. you turn around to find heeseung beside his motorcycle, helmet in hand. “no.” he glances at your phone. “looks like it.” “i can manage.” “i’m sure you can. eventually.” “heeseung, please.” he raises both hands. “okay, okay. want a ride?” “no.” “you didn’t even think about it.” “i don’t want to ride with you.” “fine.” he puts on his helmet, starts the motorcycle, and waits for a moment as if giving you one last chance. you stubbornly look away and sigh. ”fine,” he grins. “get on. i’ll take you home.” you hesitate. “i promise i won’t bite.” “that’s not reassuring.” “would you rather not go home?” “fine,” you grumble, accepting the spare helmet he hands you. “wow. was that so hard?” “i can still change my mind.” “get on the bike.” you climb on behind him, leaving as much space between you as physically possible. he glances over his shoulder. “you planning to ride home without touching me?” “i’ll hold the seat.” “sure. just don’t fall off.” you grip the back of the seat with both hands. he starts the engine. and for the first few minutes, you convince yourself that this isn’t so bad. until the road opens up. heeseung accelerates, and you immediately tense. “heeseung!” “what?” (comsec++) #enhypen #enhypenpov #heeseung #heeseungenhypen #fyp
