@conscious.app: This is the movie Elon Musk doesn't want you to see. "Musk," a nearly four-hour documentary by Oscar winner Alex Gibney, who exposed Enron and Scientology, shows how one man gained power over America's economy and politics through Tesla, SpaceX, X, Trump's election and DOGE. It argues he's a con man whose wealth rests on inflated stock. Before its release, Musk's lawyer Alex Spiro threatened to sue. Musk, a self-proclaimed "free speech absolutist," called Gibney an "idiot" and accused him of "fabricating a false film." Gibney says Musk ignored repeated interview requests. YouTube, Meta, TikTok and X all rejected the film's ads as "political content." YouTube and Meta reversed after press coverage. TikTok, whose U.S. owners include Musk's friend, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, hasn't. X, Musk's own app, still won't. HBO helped fund the film and planned to stream it. On October 6, Paramount, run by Ellison's son David, bought HBO's parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery. Gibney worries the film may never stream. Musk has also spent about $366 million this election cycle, more than any other known donor, including $158 million to a super PAC fighting to keep Republicans in control of the Senate before November 3. SpaceX won over $8 billion in Pentagon contracts this year, his chatbot Grok was added to an AI platform for 3 million Pentagon staff, and Tesla reported zero federal income tax on $5.7 billion of 2025 U.S. income.
