I LOVED it, not only was it funny, it was incredibly deep. It showcases a witch hunt reversed which you never see honestly. I also loved its ties to political/religious control and how people are easily manipulated. 10/10

saw it alone as well. maybe it's bc I've seen movies like that or more.. (think The Holy Mountain) but I was expecting to be more disturbed. the shots were beautiful tho. loved the imagery

It was surprisingly really funny 😭 Went in blind and really really liked it! Definitely didn’t gag me the way I thought it would but I totally get why it did back in the 70s but it was such good cinematography. Loved the commentary on religion as well.

My biggest pet peeve was that there were not enough pretty shots and too much of crucifixes in body parts like give me 10 more minutes of pretty shots, and 10 less of the weird exorcism situation

Ok so I am very squeamish about stuff like what happens to Grandier at the end of his life (I know the story from history). Is that part of the movie so bad I will be traumatized or is it campy like it appears a lot of the movie is? I want to see it SO bad but not if my empath ass is gonna be going through realistic torture
