You can put my cat in a line up of tabbies and I’d be able to pick her out almost immediately. Size, look, personality. It’s pretty easy to tell animals apart when one is your pet 😂

When my sisters dog went to daycare they had an identical dog there and when my mom picked him up one day she knew they gave her the wrong dog cuz it jumped right into the car and Merlin didn’t do that lol

I can understand maybe the groomer bringing out the wrong dog, but the owner bringing home the wrong dog? Absolutely not. I feel like any person that pays the smallest little smidge of interest to their dog would immediately know that’s not their dog, no?

No because I know haircuts can really change how they look but when the color/behavior/proportions are NOT THE SAME ???

A guy came in to pick up his 30ish pound doodle from a haircut and asked if the 80ish pound doodle behind the counter was his. Like, no, bro???

My dog would refuse to leave with someone else. Also, there were three other westies at the groomer once and I said “but mine is the cutest one, right?” And they were like “we literally can’t tell them apart.” Lol (but I can)

I’m a groomer and one time a salon I worked at had 2 dogs with the same name, one black Shih Tzu and an all white poodle. The Shih Tzu went home first, with the poodle owner, and it took them until they got home to realize it wasn’t their dog.

I’ve worked for multiple people with 10+ dogs of the same breed/mix and I could tell all of them apart after a few months. I could never pick up the wrong dog

I just saw one yesterday that really upset me because she kept saying the bottom dog in the photo below looked exactly like her dog but then she shows her dog and it’s a totally different looking dog. Not even close. Do people even look at their dogs??

I think it's the same dog and they are just making it up. One is the picture of the dog as a puppy and the older dog is their dog now. They are just baiting people.

tbh I think a lot of doodle people don't actually like their dogs and that's why this happens

if I can spot your brown lab out of the 5 other ones after being with your dog for 30 minutes then you can spot your fluffy unless you're super old

i had a lady at my boarding facility come to pick up her golden retriever at the same time as another lady who also had a golden retriever and a shepard mix that had grown up together. i brought out the two dogs first and the second lady swore up and down that i had given the first lady her dog. one was a skinny young female and the other was a larger male who was very obviously focused on his mom and brother but the other lady refused to believe us and swore it was her dog. she even tried to grab him from his mom! i had to point out the size and behavior difference as well as facial features and the nose colors were different. she didn’t believe me until i brought out her dog and showed that one was female and the other was male. she got so mad that she never came back

I have a Samoyed, most Samoyeds look very similar. I could still pick her out of a line up (if she didn’t find me first)

if I wasn't entirely positive my dog was my dog
then idc I would sit right there in the building asking my dog to do all of the tricks I taught them and if somehow my dog actually lays down without immediately going into a roll over then that's not my dog because he is stupid and doesn't know lay down doesn't automatically mean he should roll over

you'd be surprised. People don't know their own animals. I'm a dog groomer and I had a lady cuss me out once because I called telling her her 30lb cream colored doodle was done, and when she got there I had a large 65lb BROWN DOODLE on my table and she was mad that I called her when her dog "clearly wasnt done" 🙄
