@omenx69: 50 years ago today, October 16, 1976, the final episode of "Shazam!" aired on CBS. The half-hour live-action Saturday morning series, produced by Filmation, was based on DC Comics' superhero Captain Marvel. Michael Gray starred as teenager Billy Batson, who turned into Captain Marvel by shouting the magic word "Shazam!" Les Tremayne played his traveling companion, Mentor. The two drove across the country in a 1973 Dodge motorhome, helping young people in trouble, and each episode ended with a short moral lesson for viewers. Jackson Bostwick originally played Captain Marvel and was replaced by John Davey during the second season. Starting in 1975, the show was paired with "The Secrets of Isis" as "The Shazam!/Isis Hour," and JoAnna Cameron and Davey crossed over as guest stars on each other's shows. "Shazam!" premiered September 7, 1974, and ran three seasons and 28 episodes. #OnThisDay #October16 #Shazam #saturdaymorning #shazam
