@hermanos.wellness: Generational healing looks like hearing your Mexican dad openly talk about mental health and medication. Being part of the NAMI California Conference alongside both of my parents was a full-circle moment. Growing up, conversations about mental health and medication weren’t always easy. But hearing my dad acknowledge that medication can be an important part of someone’s mental health journey reminds me that our parents are capable of learning, growing, and changing alongside us. For many Latino families, stigma surrounding mental health and medication still exists. But these conversations are how we begin to break those barriers. Medication isn’t a weakness, and seeking help doesn’t make you any less of a man. Gracias, pa, por estar dispuesto a aprender, escuchar y crecer conmigo. Generational healing, una plática a la vez.
