@allaroundvegas: Nevada’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.7% in September—the lowest since before the pandemic—while the Las Vegas metro area added 1,500 jobs. According to Nevada DETR, statewide employers added 1,300 jobs, bringing total nonfarm employment to a record 1,620,200. Las Vegas employment increased by 21,800 jobs compared with September 2025. Statewide, leisure and hospitality added 2,700 jobs during September, followed by construction with 500. There’s also important context: Nevada’s labor force shrank by 5,343 people, and the unemployment rate remained above the national rate of 4.2%. The lower unemployment number comes alongside fewer people participating in the labor market.
