@imctsk: I studied abroad in Costa Rica in 2024. Studying abroad opened my eyes to what it might be like to work in conservation. It put you one on one with the animals we’re trying to protect. I wasn’t just watching a TikTok video, for a month I lived there and it felt like nothing else existed except those moments. Especially since our phones were reduced to nothing more than cameras when we were hiking. But I enjoyed it, and I think about it everyday. While I ended up changing my major from conservation, I hope to support and protect the environment regardless. Recently, I decided to start sketching all the wildlife from birds to bugs that we saw.
