I see something funny, and my first thought is to send it to you. Something happens during my day, and I imagine how I would tell you about it. I hear a song that reminds me of us, and suddenly I’m back in moments I thought I had already left behind. It’s strange how the smallest things can bring back the biggest feelings. I could be having a perfectly normal day, convincing myself that I’m doing fine, and then one little memory of you appears out of nowhere and reminds me that a part of me is still living in the past. I hate how easily my heart remembers you, how it remembers your words, your presence, your way of making ordinary moments feel special.
