As a Latina, I find this so hard to fathom. I’ve heard stories of Dutch people making A guest wait in the other room while they had dinner and not offer them any at all. Why are they like this?

My sister in law is Dutch. The rude and hurtful comments were very weird. When we visited my brother, on many occasions she made food for herself with a large fruit salad, and didn’t even offer to my children, or us!!! Once, at my home I gathered the dishes after we all had dinner and I picked and nibbled at the left over chicken in the pot while I was putting the food in the containers for the fridge. She said, “Here. There some more meat left between my teeth.” 😳🤢

My Dutch ex was just like this. Like a vulture. Super opportunistic. Used everyone around him to get what HE wanted and showed no remorse for it. He’d use all of my good speciality coffee so I asked him once to replace it. What does he get? The cheapest coffee possible and then told me the amount I owed him.

I was stuck between an old Dutch couple on a 13 hour flight because the man wanted the window and the wife wanted the aisle seat. Couldn't move bc the flight was absolutely full. They refused to swap seats to sit together and talked over me the entire flight like I was an inanimate object. Worst flight of my life.

There is nothing that annoys me more than people being weird about small amounts of money. These tikkie stories have me actually fuming. I’d be SO ashamed to ask someone to pay me back for like, a coffee i bought them. I barely let my friends and family split a dinner bill! It makes me feel weird not to pay a bill when I’m with people I care about (to my detriment tbh, it’s something i’m working on haha) I actually cannot fucking fathom sending someone a request for $1 for something i OFFERED them?!?

I had a Dutch roommate in college once and I called her “Mr Krabs” for short which she hated when she finally figured out who he was lol. Anyways Y’all tell me why we placing an order for food one night she asked if I wanted anything and I thought she was offering to buy my food and keep in mind I was broke so I figured when I got paid I’d cover her next time. We get the food and she sent me a request for the food I ordered on Apple. I looked her dead in her face mid bite and said “what is this?” She said it was the payment request for my food.” So I looked at her and let her know I didn’t have the money and I would pay her back on Friday when I got paid cause I thought she was just looking out for me. Y’all she hounded me the WHOLE week and I’m a little petty so I paid her that Friday and she asked me if she could have some of my coffee that Saturday and I sent her a $3 request for the cup of coffee she drank lol we did not get along that rest of that year at all but I didn’t care and made the best of my experience 😭😭😭 I will never fw Dutch people because of the experience I had that year with her. Stingy asf

I have a friend and she only offers you something to eat if it is expired.if not ,she will make a meal only for her daughter and husband. She will offer you only if it’s past expiration date . I find it so weird

One time I asked a fellow student I was doing a group project with to print something we needed for our group presentation. I didn’t have my studentpass on me and it was 10 cents. She got really uncomfortable and I didn’t understand what was going on. Genuinely thought her pass was not working and she kept beating around the bush. When I realized it was about the money I gave her 20 cents cash and told her to keep the change lol, she had no issues printing then😂 Born and raised here but will never understand this stinginess and selfishness.
