@classics.journey: Wynonna Judd is weighing in on the controversy surrounding country star Kacey Musgraves after her comments about Christopher Columbus sparked a heated debate. Musgraves, 38, made headlines during a Dallas stop on her Middle of Nowhere tour when she sharply criticized the explorer in front of a live audience celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Her remarks quickly spread online, drawing attention to the ongoing debate over Columbus’s place in history. But Wynonna, one of country music’s most recognized voices, offered a different perspective when asked about the controversy on a Fox News podcast. “She has the right to do that, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing,” Judd said. The singer explained that she sees live performances as a chance to bring people together rather than focus on personal views. She said fans spend their money to enjoy music, connect with artists, and leave feeling better than when they arrived. Judd also revealed that she has performed for seven presidents, as well as members of Congress and the Senate, emphasizing that she is willing to sing for audiences regardless of their beliefs. “Music is for everybody, that's what's so great,” she added. Her comments highlight a long-running question in entertainment: should artists use their platforms to speak openly about controversial issues, or keep the focus on their music? \#WynonnaJudd #KaceyMusgraves #CountryMusic #CelebrityNews #musicnews
