How many more elephants must we lose before we understand the value of a life?
How many more innocent giants must die before we take our responsibility towards wildlife seriously?
They are not just animals.
They are living treasures of our land.
They are part of our forests, our ecosystems, our heritage, and our identity.
Yet, time and time again, we hear about the tragic deaths of these magnificent creatures.
Behind every death, there is a life that mattered. A life that deserved protection. A life that should never be treated as insignificant.
As a zoology graduate, I believe protecting wildlife is not merely a choice. It is a responsibility we all share.
And today, I raise my voice for Kavanthissa and every elephant that has lost its life.
We need answers.
We need transparency.
We need accountability.
And above all, we need action.
Our elephants cannot speak our language. But that does not mean their suffering should go unheard.
A nation that takes pride in its elephants must also take responsibility for protecting them.
Let us stop treating these tragedies as just another news story.
Let us demand change before another life is lost.
JUSTICE FOR KAVANTHISSA.
JUSTICE FOR OUR ELEPHANTS.
Because every life matters. 🐘🖤
