Speaking to journalists while returning to Rome from the hospital, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that the Church has a responsibility to continue encouraging dialogue between nations. "These wars no longer make sense," Pope Leo XIV said. "Differences between peoples and nations should be addressed through negotiation rather than through continued conflict." The Pope also warned that growing military spending only increases tensions. He stressed that these resources could instead be used to address urgent human needs such as health, education, housing, and the fight against hunger.
