The weird part is it probably would have been cheaper to make the meals and take photos of them.

I don't GET restaurants using AI on menus. you MAKE the food, go to the kitchen and take a picture with your phone!

if the Vietnamese restaurant doesn't have 20 year old faded photos behind the counter and sticky, laminated menus written in dubious English I refuse to eat there.

I work in the creative industry, seasoned graphic designer, and the slop produced by AI is utterly terrible. It can’t design at all. It can do ‘eye candy’, but certainly not anything I’d consider serious design. I see FB ads with font so small you need a magnifying glass, or posters with 8 confusing calls to action, zero hierarchy, 7 fonts, and a severe lack of contrast, considered layout or focus on the message itself. AI copies or produces slop in the hands of a non professional. You need design expertise to produce good design. With the advent of AI I’m busier than ever. I’m getting so much AI slop that hasn’t worked to re-do properly. I use AI myself, but not for design work - I use it for all the boring admin stuff like organising an illustrator file with 120 layers I’ve created into categories, or building scripts for indesign or illustration to run routine automations that uses to take much longer to do within the software, or building CRM automations or json files as I do a lot of web work and internet marketing for my clients . As a seasoned designer, there’s no way I’d accept AI slop or use AI for any form of finished design work! A lot of very small business is using it a lot more lately, but they’re not my target market and never have been. I’d be more impressed if they had a go and put their own time with their own photography into it via canva because then it would have their own personality and style which is ultimately the very first step in business branding.

In my town a cafe used AI to do their signage and it just looks so trash. I refuse to try it just based on that alone.

Just when you thought sweet potatoes couldn’t get any better, Nicole whips up these twice-baked pecan pie sweet potatoes, perfect as a sweet side dish or dessert. 🍠 Tap the link in bio to get the recipe. Save this recipe and more favorites in the @myrecipes app. ❤️ Ingredients: 3 large sweet potatoes 1/2 cup brown sugar 5 tablespoons cold salted butter, divided 1/3 cup dark corn syrup 2/3 cup finely chopped pecans 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt Directions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash potatoes and prick each with a fork a few times. Place potatoes on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until soft, about 1 hour. Meanwhile, add brown sugar to a saucepan. Cut 3 tablespoons butter into small cubes and add it to the pan, along with corn syrup, pecans, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring very often. Once at a boil, allow it to boil for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat to cool until just warm. When potatoes are cool enough to handle, cut each one in half lengthwise. Scoop out most of the inside of the large potatoes into a large bowl, leaving about 1/4-inch around the edge. Add remaining butter to the sweet potatoes in the bowl and mash until mostly smooth. Stir 1/2 cup pecan mixture into the mashed potatoes and spoon mixture back into the hollowed sweet potato halves. Bake sweet potatoes for 15 minutes. Top potatoes with remaining pecan mixture. 🎥: Nicole McLaughlin @nicolesperfectbite #sweetpotatoes #thanksgiving
