@coldnightdream_: Lily's relationship with Severus is the exact reason I believe he could never get along with such characters. Sure, for some banter or drama, perhaps(?) to a certain extent, but for a long-term bond? It would exhaust him to his core. (the 'opposites attract' trope for Snape is such nonsense to me, sorry not sorry🤕) And that's why they never worked, they constantly triggered each other and couldn't handle one another in so MANY WAYS!! His VERY introverted soul simply couldn't endure the endless troubles and chaos that this kind of match brought into his life. (Not only Lily, but I even created Rosie Gray in my own story as the exact same type, just to prove how unsustainable it really is lol). So.. yeah.
