@startupmediatiktok: UAE Ranked World’s Third-Best Place to Live in 2026, Secures No. 1 Spot for Tax The UAE has been ranked the world’s third-best place to live in 2026, earning the highest tax score among 63 destinations in the latest Nomad Capitalist Lifestyle Index. The United Arab Emirates has secured a place among the world’s most attractive destinations for living, working and investing, ranking third globally in the 2026 Nomad Capitalist Lifestyle Index. The UAE finished just behind Monaco and Andorra, highlighting its growing appeal to entrepreneurs, investors and internationally mobile professionals. Published by consulting firm Nomad Capitalist, the index awarded the UAE an overall score of 73.15 out of 100. Monaco topped the rankings with 73.89 points, followed by Andorra with 73.68, leaving less than one point between the three leading destinations. The UAE was also the only Gulf country included in the index. UAE Tops Global Rankings for Tax The UAE’s strongest performance came in the tax category, where it ranked first among all 63 destinations, scoring an impressive 96 out of 100. According to the report, the country’s tax environment, including the absence of personal income tax and capital gains tax, contributed significantly to its position. However, tax obligations can vary depending on individual circumstances and the type of income involved. The UAE introduced a 9 per cent federal corporate tax in June 2023, marking a significant development in its business and taxation framework. Strong Performance in Residency and Infrastructure The UAE also performed well in the residency and access category, scoring 78.7 points and ranking seventh globally. The expansion of the 10-year Golden Visa programme in 2022 to include additional categories of investors, skilled professionals and entrepreneurs has strengthened the country's appeal to international residents. In the quality of life and infrastructure category, the UAE scored 72.6 points, placing fifth worldwide. Its modern infrastructure, established business environment and extensive international connectivity contribute to its attractiveness as a destination for residents and global professionals. Five Key Factors Determine the Rankings The Nomad Capitalist Lifestyle Index evaluates 63 destinations using five equally weighted categories: nature and climate, tax, residence and access, safety and freedom, and quality of life and infrastructure. The UAE also ranked first among the five destinations assessed in the index’s Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean grouping. The Seychelles ranked 12th globally, while Mauritius secured 17th place. Khatia Gelbakhiani, Head of Product at Nomad Capitalist, highlighted the close competition among the top three destinations, noting that the difference between Monaco, Andorra and the UAE was less than one point. She explained that Monaco leads in quality of life, Andorra performs strongly in safety and freedom, while the UAE stands out for its tax environment. According to Gelbakhiani, the most suitable destination ultimately depends on an individual's priorities and lifestyle. UAE Strengthens Its Global Appeal The ranking reflects the UAE’s continued appeal as an international destination for business, investment and long-term residence. Its tax framework, residency options and infrastructure have helped position the country as a competitive choice for individuals seeking opportunities across global markets. While the index does not suggest that one destination is ideal for everyone, the UAE’s third-place finish and leading tax score underline its strong performance across several important measures of international living. The rankings are produced by Nomad Capitalist, a consultancy serving internationally mobile individuals, entrepreneurs and investors. Its index aims to help people compare destinations based on a combination of practical living conditions rather than relying solely on salaries or the cost of living. #UAE #UAENews #Dubai #AbuDhabi #UAE2026
