@wholeisticyoupllc: Domestic violence awareness is personal to me. When I opened up to people close to me about what I was experiencing in my relationship, some of the responses I received were painful and dismissive. I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only woman who has experienced this. Too often, survivors find themselves feeling blamed, invalidated or unsupported by the very people they turn to for help. Speaking up takes courage. No one should be made to feel like they’re playing the victim for trying to talk about their own experiences. Behind every survivor is a story we may know nothing about. Before you judge someone, consider what they may have survived in silence. Awareness isn’t just about knowing domestic violence exists. It’s about how we treat the people experiencing it. 💜
