Mr.Nyombi. From this clip alone, it is very clear that you have not fully understood the hotspot business. Not every hotspoter is reselling the residential package, many isps offer packages for business packages…they haven’t complained. Every highly regulated industries like the pharmaceutical industry supports innovation, the finance you’re talking about supported mobile banking and mobile money businesses which a number a youth are doing, the banks never complained btw! What’s so special about telecommunication???…why don’t you address the issue of an affordable Zonal license to support these youth that want to compete and contribute to this industry!!!??….Why are you fighting something that you yourself haven’t clearly comprehended!!…

But do you know MTN first advertised its Wakanet as business and it’s the one and its agents who attracted people in this businesss!!Kati lwaki mwekyusa??There is no harm at all. the issue is just that you want to maximize taxes ,All ISPS were advertising its internet as business based for business now they are changing becoz Ugandans are benefiting.

@NyombiTembo Thank you for speaking on this sir. With respect, we are not against regulation. UCC is saying we must switch off in 7 days, that is erasing thousands of youth jobs. We buy DEDICATED internet with reseller agreements from some ISPs, we pay for it. We are ready to be licensed and taxed, just give us an affordable Community License, not the Regional ISP license. 90 days to organize us under one Alliance. Regulate us, don't erase us.

@NyombiTembo Respect sir, it's not buying food in a restaurant. Internet is like water and electricity, it doesn't finish when we share it. We are not chasing MTN/Airtel workers, we are connecting communities they can't reach. Please help us get an affordable Community License, not the Regional one. We are Ugandan youth who created our own jobs, don't erase us.

@Kawuki Mack:could you please clarify on the people that have agent and reseller agreements with some telecoms here and are paying huge sums of money for bulk data. these people pay V.A.T on that money and somen pay the tax and the money aside. i know of someone paying about 10million every month to a certain telecom company and has that agreement. Are u thinking of that revenue too or all u want is to kick them out. are you widening the tax base or simply saying lets just say have a few big tax payers and thats fine since they pay alot of taxes

Good enough Honorable with the due respect you have compared telecommunication to finance and bank system and let me also extend it to health sector. Let me ask Honorable in Uganda and banking sector we hve Tier 1 license wc covers commercial banks, Tier II covering credit institutions, Tier III Micro finance and Tie IV with Sacco license, my appeal Honorable kindly provide license to hotspoters in the above sense not a PSP license
