Before Snoop Dogg became a global icon, he was a young rapper from Long Beach whose past had shut the doors of an entire country in his face. In the mid-1990s, when his career was just taking off, the United Kingdom made it clear that his criminal history was not welcome on their soil. The tabloids led the charge, with the Daily Star running a front-page headline screaming "Kick this evil bastard out" during his 1994 UK tour. The paper cited his explicit lyrics, but the far more serious reason was his upcoming trial in the United States on a charge of being an accessory to murder. In 1993, Snoop was charged with murder after a rival gang member was shot and killed in a car he was riding in. Although he was ultimately acquitted of the murder charge in 1996, the case hung over his head for years, and the UK government used it as a reason to keep him out. But according to Snoop, someone unexpected came to his defense: Queen Elizabeth II. "The queen said, 'This man has done nothing in our country. He can come'". He later explained that her grandchildren, Prince William and Harry, were fans of his music, and their influence helped sway the monarch. "When the queen speak, bow down," Snoop said. "The queen, that's my gal". Even with the Queen's alleged intervention, Snoop found himself officially barred from entering the country again years later, a ban that would keep him from performing for his British fans. When the news broke that he had been denied a visa again in 2007, Snoop didn't respond with anger or threats. He responded with the kind of cool that only he possesses. "I was shocked by the decision but am optimistic that the British authorities will soon realize my global efforts to promote peace and grant me the opportunity to come back for my fans" . He didn't just defend himself; he offered a solution. "All I can do is politely ask the Home Office to reconsider this. I can reach the kids with my mic that politicians cannot with their voices. I can tell them to stop the violence and killings that have been happening in the UK" . And then, with a shrug that echoed across the Atlantic, he laid down the ultimate truth: "If they say they don't want big Snoopy Dogg there, then I'll keep it moving. Otherwise, open up and let me do what I do" . drop your comments ,like and follow mpzo5 for more ENTERTAINMENT updates. #mpzo5 #2pac🐐👑💯 #tiktoknigeria🇳🇬 #creatorsearchinsinghts #fyppp
