@occupycinematographers: 'Song of the Sea' was hand painted, and the work was split across five countries. Tomm Moore asked Adrien Merigeau, a background artist from 'The Secret of Kells', to art direct, and the look was built on watercolor. Ireland's Cartoon Saloon led the production. Luxembourg handled background painting and layout, Belgium did compositing, France covered post-production and music, and a Danish studio co-produced. It won the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature. Follow @occupycinematography for more. #songofthesea #cartoonsaloon #watercolor #animationart #cinematography
