@thetimeofamerica1: Do you support Ukraine striking Russian data centers when there is credible evidence they serve a military purpose? Ukraine has the right to defend itself against Russia’s invasion. That includes confronting the systems supporting military operations, subject to the rules protecting civilians. But the words “data center” alone tell us very little about what a facility actually does. It could support military communications, ordinary businesses, essential civilian services, or several functions at once. That distinction should matter to anyone discussing a strike. Before celebrating a destroyed building, I want to know what role it played, what military advantage the attack was expected to achieve, and what risks it created for civilians. Calling something a “bot farm” without evidence does not answer those questions. Supporting Ukraine and demanding responsible targeting belong together. Ukrainians deserve effective means to defend their country, while civilians should remain protected regardless of nationality. The goal should be to reduce Russia’s ability to wage its invasion and help secure a lasting peace.
