Home made Butter Croissants Ingredients For the Dough • 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g) • 2 tablespoons sugar (25g) • 1 teaspoon instant yeast (4g) • ½ teaspoon salt (3g) • ½ cup warm milk (120ml) • 2 tablespoons butter, softened (30g) • 1 egg For the Butter Layer • ¾ cup cold unsalted butter (170g) For Egg Wash • 1 egg • 1 tablespoon milk (15ml) Instructions Mix the flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Add the warm milk, egg and softened butter. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and allow it to rise until doubled in size. While the dough is rising, place the cold butter between two sheets of baking paper and gently roll it into a flat square. Refrigerate until firm. Roll the risen dough into a large square, slightly bigger than the butter square. Place the cold butter in the centre of the dough. Fold the corners of the dough over the butter and seal it completely. Roll the dough gently into a long rectangle. Fold one-third of the dough toward the centre, then fold the other third over it like a letter. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Repeat the rolling and folding process two more times, chilling the dough for about 30 minutes between each fold. After the final chilling, roll the dough into a large rectangle about ½ cm thick. Cut the dough into long triangles. Make a small cut at the wide end of each triangle, then gently roll each triangle toward the pointed end to form the classic croissant shape. Arrange the croissants on a lined baking tray, cover lightly and allow them to rise until puffy. Mix the egg and milk and gently brush over the croissants. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 15–20 minutes, or until beautifully golden brown and flaky. Allow the croissants to cool slightly and enjoy warm! 🥐✨ TRESH CAKES
