Because on the nost basic level the reproductive system does one thing, the respiratory system does one thing, the digestive system does one thing, but if we named the nervous system after the things it did instead of what it was made up of then it would be the Touchy, feely, seeing, smelling, tasting, moving, touchy, burny, cold, system... and that'd be weird.

If you call it the Composure system...your nerves indeed...will composite themselves to balance out...and not scream its issues at you!!! To call it the Nervous system...doesnt make you nervous.
