@mimiofteninfl: Yesterday, I closed on my new home and officially began a new chapter of my life. While I was at closing, some incredible people were back at the house packing and loading the U-Haul. Between all their hard work and the five loads I made in my own car, we got it done. Today, as we return the U-Haul, I’ll be going back to the house for the first time since leaving yesterday morning. And for the first time, I’ll see it empty. That house holds so many memories of my husband and the life we shared. I know walking through those empty rooms is going to be emotional. I could never have done this move without the love, kindness, and helping hands of everyone who showed up for me. I am beyond grateful. This new chapter is bittersweet. I’m leaving behind a home filled with memories, but I’m carrying all that love with me. I watched my mom slowly give up after my dad passed. She didn't want anything changed.. it was like she was waiting for him to walk through the door at any time.. She died a little every day until she passed. 💕
