When my husband and I were preparing to conceive, I wanted an easy way to get more of the nutrients that support reproductive health into our everyday routine. So I started putting them in one bowl! Packed with fiber, protein, healthy fats and minerals, this is still one of my favorite breakfasts. Here’s what I add and why: 🥄 Chia seeds: Fiber for digestion and plant-based omega-3 fats. A nourishing base that helps make this breakfast satisfying. 🥄 Hemp seeds: Extra protein, essential fats and magnesium. Protein provides amino acids your body uses to build tissues and many hormones. 🥄 Protein powder: Makes this a more substantial breakfast and helps keep me full. 🥄 Organised organ blend with collagen + colostrum: Adds extra protein and organ-derived nutrients. An easy way for me to incorporate ingredients I wouldn’t necessarily eat on their own. 🥄 Goji berries: Add antioxidant compounds, including carotenoids. Antioxidants help protect cells from oxidative stress, which matters for reproductive health too. 🥄 Chopped walnuts: Healthy fats, including plant-based omega-3s. Walnuts have also been shown to support sperm movement, vitality and shape, so these were on my husband’s menu too. 🥄 Cacao nibs: Magnesium, fiber and polyphenols, plus the chocolate crunch that makes the whole bowl better. 🥄 Pumpkin seeds: Zinc, which plays an essential role in sperm formation, plus magnesium and extra protein. 🥄 Sunflower seeds: Vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage. 🥄 Sesame seeds: Copper, which supports energy production and helps your body use iron. Sometimes I’d add two Brazil nuts for selenium, which supports thyroid hormone metabolism. I also occasionally used kelp powder for iodine, which the thyroid needs to make its hormones. You can also use fully soaked basil seeds instead of chia for another fiber-rich base. I’m a big believer in nourishing yourself in the morning and having breakfast before coffee. For me, supporting my hormones starts with consistently feeding my body, and this is such an easy way to fit a variety of nutrients into one meal. Preconception me started it. Pregnant me is still very much enjoying it 🤍#ChiaPudding #FertilityNutrition #PreconceptionNutrition #HormoneHealth #healthybreakfast
