You left out the part about WHY. Because it’s been 8 years since my mom had access to me because she told me the 8 years of abuse at the hands of her husband was my fault. So, if you’re going to only tell one side and look for sympathy, the answer is no.

I moved away and didn’t tell him.. Not sure if we will ever see each other again, I love him BUT I do not like the man he became.. I only know that when he needs something is the only time he finds me and I won’t be used

My mom is 88. I tried to explain to her the pain and hurt that she causes, and she went to her friends and our family to recruit sympathy and to get people to take sides. I still love my mom, but when she at 88 still refuses to hear any feedback that might be negative and definitely refuses to accept responsibility or try to change, estrangement is the only option. Most adult children do not want estrangement. It is absolutely the only and last option available for peace. I don’t know your story, but if you see yourself in any of this, please know the power is yours to make a change. It may just be something you’re not willing to look at. It may not be similar at all, but I am sharing in case it is.

Yeah that terrifies me too. My son has been estranged for over 15yrs. What’s even scarier is forgetting what his voice sounds like and what he looks like without having to look at his picture. Sigh.

im almost 5 years in , there dad was a total lier, hit me..cheated never looked after us ..smashed our home up ..God I could go on...got in touch with my boy at 16..then my daughter at 25 ..I haven't seen my daughter since xx
