@businessinsiderssa: South African President Cyril Ramaphosa Urges Citizens to Celebrate Rwanda’s Formula 1 Hosting Ambitions as a Win for Africa South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged South Africans to support Rwanda’s Formula 1 hosting ambitions, describing the development as a victory for the entire African continent. Acknowledging the disappointment of South Africans who had hoped to see Formula 1 return to their country, Ramaphosa said South Africa cannot win everything and should celebrate the achievements of fellow African nations. The President also recalled his personal love for Formula 1, revealing that he received a steering wheel associated with legendary Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna as a gift, which he says he still keeps at home. Ramaphosa congratulated Rwanda and expressed South Africa’s willingness to share its experience of hosting Formula 1 races, stressing that Rwanda’s success should be seen as a collective African achievement.
